You’ll know the front door hinges are due for replacement when the doors start to drop slightly as they open, or if you need to lift the door to get it to latch properly.
Creaking, stiffness, or a grinding feel in the hinge are also common signs of wear. If the door begins to sit unevenly against the body, shows gaps in the seals, or makes wind noise while driving, the hinges may no longer be holding alignment.
Visible play in the hinge pins, rust around the hinge plates, or any rubbing when the door moves are clear indications that it’s time to fit new hinges to restore proper door operation.
