The Tailgate Slow Down Strut are designed to give your tailgate a smooth, controlled drop every time it’s opened.


These strut  prevent the tailgate from slamming down, reducing wear on hinges and improving safety when loading or unloading.


Once installed, the tailgate lowers gently on its own. The strut fit neatly without affecting normal operation and provide a more refined, user-friendly feel to your tailgate.

Installing the tailgate slow down strut on a Hilux  is a quick and simple job that can be done with basic tools.


The brackets are fitted to the factory mounting points on the tailgate and the truck bed, and once secured, the strut clip into place on the upper and lower mounts.


After fitting, you just open and close the tailgate a few times to make sure the motion is smooth and the strut are seated properly. The whole process is straightforward and takes only a few minutes to complete.
