Specification

You’ll know the fuel filler neck is due for replacement when you start to see signs of rust or flaking around the pipe, usually where it sits behind the rear wheel arch.

A strong smell of diesel when filling, fuel drips on the ground, or difficulty getting the tank to fill properly are also common symptoms. In some cases the vehicle may show venting issues, causing the pump to click off repeatedly.

Any visible corrosion, dampness, or staining on the pipe is a good indication that it’s time to replace it before it begins to leak fully.
